Who we are
Blank Canvas Studio is a wedding and event film studio serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Ryan Sarmiento, the guy behind the camera, has a passion for film, a weak spot for weddings, and—with 12 years experience as a graphic designer—an obsession for details.
What we do
We shoot, edit, and produce films of weddings (and other events), taking care to capture not just the big moments but the small details that together form the story of your event.
As our business name implies, we approach every wedding and event as a blank canvas because every story is different. We use the latest film equipment and whatever filming techniques required to tell your story. Often, focusing on a single detail—like a coat slung over a chair—can speak volumes. We pay close attention and, while staying as unobtrusive as possible, make sure our camera takes in everything from the rings, flowers, and beads on the wedding dress to the table numbers, menu, and special decorations. We then create an edited film that retells your story in an artistic fashion.
